Marc A. White, Jr., President & Chief Executive Officer

Marc is President and Chief Executive Officer of Clarendon Private. He brings over four decades of leadership experience in financial services building private banking and wealth management businesses. Marc spent the majority of his career at two major global investment firms, J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse First Boston. He joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank in 2005 as CEO for New England. In that capacity he was responsible for building and leading the Wealth Management business, and growing the team to sixty professionals and over $11 billion in assets during his twelve-year tenure. In 2015 Marc was promoted to Vice Chairman of J.P. Morgan Private Bank and Chair of the New England Market Leadership team.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Marc served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Fleet’s Private Client Group responsible for national sales and client development. His responsibilities also included managing product development, wealth strategies and the Middle Market Institutional Sales group for the Private Bank. Before joining Fleet in 2001, Marc spent sixteen years at Credit Suisse First Boston rising to Managing Director of the New England Region. In this capacity he was responsible for CSFB’s institutional equity and fixed income sales, private client services and equity research business. Marc also served as Chief Executive Officer and President of ETHIC where he oversaw turnaround, expansion and recruitment strategies for the company. 

Marc currently serves on or has served on the Boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, the Peabody Essex Museum, The Governor’s Academy, Breast Cancer Research Foundation-Men in Pink, the Tower School, the Wang Theater, the Parents Leadership Council for Brown University’s Annual Fund and Co-Chaired the Parent’s Council for Brown University’s Sports Foundation. Marc earned his B.A. from Hamilton College, and he and his wife have three children and reside in Marblehead.

Tracy L. Welch, Managing Director & Head of Wealth Advisory

As Head of Wealth Advisory for Clarendon Private, Tracy Welch brings over two decades of experience in financial services and wealth management. She has extensive client relationship management expertise, and most recently worked at Eaton Vance WaterOak Advisors helping individuals and families achieve their personal investment and planning goals.

Prior to joining Eaton Vance, Tracy was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse in the Global Markets division where she advised many of the firm's key institutional clients. Tracy provided Chief Investment Officers, portfolio managers and analysts with insights into market conditions, economic and political trends, as well as company fundamentals and stock valuations. 

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Harvard Business School, and the University of Virginia School of Law, Tracy practiced corporate law in Boston at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP. Tracy is a competitive amateur golfer and former captain of the Dartmouth Women’s Golf Team. She lives with her husband and three children north of Boston, and is currently the Co-Chair of the Concord Academy Parent Annual Fund and previously served on the Board of Visitors of Park Street School.

John Valpey, Head of Wealth Strategies

As a Wealth Strategist for Clarendon Private. John brings nearly three decades of wealth management and planning experience to Clarendon Private. John recently retired as the National Fiduciary Services Executive for Bank of America where he was responsible for tax, custody, IRAs, insurance, trust and estate settlement, and fiduciary resources operations. Prior to that, John was the national executive responsible for wealth strategies and financial/estate planning for the bank’s wealth management businesses. Before Bank of America, John led the wealth strategies organizations for both FleetBoston and State Street Global Advisors.

 John is a graduate of Boston College and Cornell Law School. A licensed attorney in MA/NH/ME, John is also a licensed real estate broker in MA/NH and a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. 

 John currently serves on the boards of Goodwill Northern New England and Social Venture Partners. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Boston Cares, and a former board member of The Boston Estate Planning Council, Learning Ally, The Judge Baker Children’s Center, and The Lincoln Community Preservation Committee. John is married with two adult children and lives in Concord, MA.

Nicholas J. Cruise, Vice President & Head of Operations

As Head of Operations for Clarendon Private, Nicholas brings close to a decade of financial services experience working with clients and advisors to achieve both financial and operational optimization. As a FINRA licensed Series 7, 9, 10, 63 and 66, he served as a registered representative supervisor with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and oversaw investment trading and operational functions. With a propensity for client satisfaction and a keen understanding for risk mitigation, Nicholas has worked to implement process improvements in order to promote operational efficiencies.

Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Nicholas obtained his Master of Business Administration from Providence College and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for being a top graduate in his class. During his years at Providence College, he studied in Dublin, Ireland at the University College Dublin as well as worked for a boutique Investment Bank in Shanghai, China. Nicholas is an avid amateur golfer who resides in Boston with his wife, Vanessa. Both are proud supporters of the Brain Injury Association and active ambassadors to the American Liver Foundation.

Laura A. Zilewicz, Vice President & Head of Client Service

As Head of Client Service for Clarendon Private, Laura Zilewicz brings close to a decade of experience to the role. Most recently, she worked for Eaton Vance’s wealth management business in Boston where she provided exceptional client service to individuals and institutions and oversaw the administration of their portfolios. Prior to that, she worked at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, where she supported the President and Executive Producer. Laura began her career at Financial Architects Partners, a boutique life insurance firm, where she cultivated her passion for client service.

Laura graduated from Elon University where she majored in Art History and minored in Communications. She has been active with Crossroads for Kids and the South Shore Conservatory, and is involved with Tabor Academy's alumni engagement efforts. Laura resides south of Boston with her husband and two children.

Thomas V. Dunlap, CFA, Vice President & Senior Investment Analyst

As a Senior Investment Analyst for Clarendon Private, Tom brings over twelve years of asset management experience. Most recently, he worked as an analyst at Loomis Sayles & Co as part of a global strategy that manages investments for some of the largest asset owners in the world. Previously, Tom served in client service and operations roles with Loomis Sayles. He began his career with Wilshire Associates where he was involved with performance analysis and manager research across asset classes for pension plans and foundations.

Tom earned his MBA from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management with honors. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Boston. He graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Denison University where he was a captain of the varsity golf team and is now an active member of the alumni association. Tom resides north of Boston with his family and is a supporter of various environmental and animal rescue projects.

Edwin “Tucker” Hamlin, CFP®, Vice President & Investment Portfolio Specialist

As an Investment Portfolio Specialist for Clarendon Private. Tucker brings over six years of investment management experience. Most recently, he was an investment strategy analyst at SVB Private working with wealth advisors to build customized portfolios and provide investment advice to prospects and clients through a deep understanding of market conditions, the firm’s investment philosophy and platform. Previously, Tucker served as a portfolio advisor at Boston Private until 2021 when Boston Private was acquired by SVB. In his former role with Boston Private, Tucker managed more than $2 billion in assets for eight senior wealth advisors, directing investment strategies and construction portfolios across all asset classes, sectors and risk tolerances.

Tucker graduated with a B.A. in Public Policy from Hamilton College where he was captain of the varsity squash team. Additionally, Tucker is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®). Tucker resides in Beacon Hill in downtown Boston with his wife, Katie, where they enjoy spending time with friends, trying new restaurants and cheering on the Boston sports teams. You can also find him playing squash, golfing and skiing (both on the water and down the mountain). Tucker is extremely involved with the local non-profit, SquashBusters, where he helps fundraise, coach and tutor Boston students.

Christopher D. Coleman, Vice President & Wealth Advisor

As a Wealth Advisor for Clarendon Private, Chris brings nearly a decade of experience in wealth management, serving as a trusted advisor to individuals, families and small business owners. Prior to Clarendon Private, Chris worked as an advisor on top rated wealth management teams at Wells Fargo Advisors and UBS Financial Services, Inc. where he successfully helped clients reach their investment goals and improve their financial future. 

Earlier in his career, Chris spent a decade in Washington, DC working in politics and government affairs. He earned a Master of Professional Studies from The George Washington University and a B.A. from Dickinson College. Chris currently serves on the Board of East Bay Lacrosse, is the Head Class Agent for Avon Old Farms’ alumni network, and volunteers for Nayatt Elementary School. He is an avid skier, golfer, and youth lacrosse coach. He is a proud fifth-generation Rhode Islander, living with his wife and three children in Barrington.

Brooke B. Darcy, Bank Rhode Island Assistant Vice President & Branch Manager

Brooke Darcy, Bank Rhode Island Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager, brings over 20 years of experience in financial services. Brooke focuses heavily on business development and identifying long-term growth opportunities for customers and the markets she serves. Brooke is also committed to cultivating new relationships throughout the area by conducting financial analysis and recommending the appropriate financial products to meet the needs of her consumer, small business and commercial clients.

A graduate of Salve Regina University and a 17-year resident of Aquidneck Island, Brooke and her family currently reside in Middletown, RI. She is immersed in the community and is an active volunteer for the Middletown school system as well as a member of the Advisory Board for Lucy’s Hearth, an organization that helps children and their families who are experiencing homelessness.


 

Paul J. Flannery, Brookline Bank Senior Vice President & Private Banking Manager

Paul Flannery is a Senior Vice President and Private Banking Manager for Brookline Bank. He first joined Brookline Bank in 2018 as part of the commercial banking team. In January 2021, Paul became the Private Banking Manager to head the Professional & Private Client Group. Paul has over twenty-five years of banking experience, which includes time at Citizens Bank and BNY Mellon. He has experience in commercial, real estate, and private banking. Paul has worked with a wide range of clients including business owners, foundations, endowments and family offices.

Paul received both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Suffolk University and resides in Boston. He is a former Alumni Trustee at Suffolk University for the Sawyer Business School, and a former member of the Fenway Community Health Board of Visitors.


Maria Psychos, Vice President & Private Banker

Maria Psychos is a Vice President, Private Banker with the Professional and Private Client Group at Brookline Bank. Maria has more than 20 years of experience in client relationship management across a range of private banking, investment management, and mortgage services. She has previously worked as a Vice President for both Citizens and BNY Mellon,
